Yizhang Economic Development Zone

2011-11-09

As one of the first batch of provincial development zones in Hunan province, the Yizhang Economic Development Zone (YEDZ) in Yizhang County of Chenzhou City was founded in April, 1992. Neighbored to Guangdong Province, YEDZ has a regional advantage, while the convenient transportation network, with the Beijng-Zhuhai expressway, the No.107 National Road and the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway crossing through Yizhang County, provides YEDZ with a transportation advantage. Besides, Yizhang County is abundant with coal non-ferrous metal and nonmetal resources. Dues to these regional, transportation and resource advantages, YEDZ aims to seize the opportunity of industrial transfer from the coastal areas towards the interior land. It desires to become a county of choice in undertaking the Guangdong-to- Hunan industrial transfer.

YEDZ consists of 3 industrial parks, namely, the Industrial Transfer Park, the Baidushi Recyclable Fluorine Chemistry Industrial Park and the Processing Trade & Industrial Park. The total area of YEDZ is 1,072 hectares, with each park accounting for 265 hectares, 200.73 hectares and 533 hectares respectively.

The Industrial Transfer Park is mainly involved in  hi-tech industries such as electronics and information, mechatronics, non-ferrous intensive and deep processing and biopharmaceutical, and food processing, as well as logistic services.

The Baidushi Recyclable Fluorine Chemistry Industrial Park produces fluorine products while relying on the county’s ample fluorite resources.

The Processing Trade & Industrial Park plans to develop the byproduct deep processing industry and labor-intensive industry. With all the coordinated manufacture, living and service facilities settled, the investment for the infrastructure construction in the park is estimated to reach 1.4 billion yuan, thus making it a highly concentrated industrial park with a strong driving force.
